Beaten

 Sometimes I listen to people go on and on about women, and it’s just so stupid. This is often sad, sometimes amusing except for the moments when it becomes obvious the person speaking is not stupid, not by a long shot. Each person is different of course, but as I think about the latest mouthpiece, I think he must have been beaten one way or another all his life. I think he just doesn’t want it to be in vain. He should be a good Catholic and offer it up. He’d be happier that way, and the rest of us could breathe a little easier too.

When you look at the history of patriarchy there is a lot to see. I think God always meant to phase it out, but it had legitimacy in ancient times. The thing is it sucked in ancient times and has continued to suck ever since. There is no debate. If you insist on a life worth living, the evidence against life under patriarchy for women is overwhelming. It is everywhere because the old bastards were proud of it. They felt no need to conceal their cruelty. In some parts of the modern world they would feel quite at home even today. If something sucks throughout recorded history, and still sucks in large swaths around the world, then it sucks. You don’t debate it. You get rid of it and move on.

But I don’t want to beat the old bastard up about it. He’s had enough and done enough beatings of one kind or another as it is. I’ll pray for his healing and leave it at that.
